Aircraft Engravers has three methods to get a N-Number within FAA specifications on your aircraft.

1) Vinyl N-Numbers -  This material is made from the highest quality high performance vinyl film material Calon2 which has a minimum 10 years outdoor life guarantee.

2) Paint mask - Is a temporary mask (a negative template) so that the N-Number can be painted on the aircraft and then removed easily to leave the painted N-Number in place. The paint masks only comes in white color, but can be painted to match the aircraft color.

3) Temporary and transit N-Numbers for ferrying aircraft are available. These are used to cover the registration number on the aircraft so that it can be flown to another country or paint shop. A solid rectangle piece of the paint mask material would cover the old N-Number. This will allow an easy removal when at it’s destination. Standard vinyl N-Numbers would be applied on top of cover-up paint mask material.

Color choices

Aircraft Engravers has a limited color selection in stock all the time, they are: White, Blue, Black, Yellow, Red and paint mask. We do have other colors available, however, their names are very subjective as to what color they really look like.

  • We stock what our customer use.
  • The adhesive has a limited shelf live, though it’s really long, we don’t want stale stock sitting on our shelves.
  • We only use the longest life premium material which eliminates 75% of the inferior products that are available.

Other colors we seem to have in stock a lot are: Navy Blue, Burgundy, Chrome, Silver & Gold. We don't recommend any of the Chrome, Silver, or Gold  metallic colors for aircraft N-Numbers, they are too reflective.
